$150 million settlement reached between PG&E and California regulators in deadly 2020 Zogg Fire | A $150 million settlement was approved Thursday by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) between Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and the CPUC's Safety and Enforcement Division regarding PG&E's involvement in the Zogg Fire. In 2020, a fallen tree in Shasta County landed on PG&E energy conductors, which caused a fire that burned 56,338 acres and killed four people. 

Sacramento's Measure O addressing homelessness set to go into effect next month | In just over a month Measure O will take effect in Sacramento. The Emergency Shelter and Enforcement Act of 2022 requires the city to take specific actions to address the homelessness crisis in the city. It's set to go into effect on June 21st. Neighbors near 28th and C streets said one homeless encampment in the area continues to grow and they want to see the change.


Feinstein's office details previously unknown complications from shingles illness | Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office said Thursday that she is suffering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a complication from the shingles virus that can paralyze part of the face, and that she contracted encephalitis while recovering from the virus earlier this year. Feinstein, 89, had not previously disclosed those medical details, though she said in a statement last week that she had suffered complications from the virus.

Father speaks against accusations made about his son at Rocklin school board meeting | The father of a football player who has been accused of taping another student during sexual activity spoke against those accusations at a Rocklin Unified School District board meeting on Wednesday. At a school board meeting earlier this month, a student came forward and accused the Rocklin High School football player of secretly recording sexual activity with her and then sharing the video on social media without consent.
