Farewell message to her mother

On Wednesday, on Jada Pinkett Smith's Red Table Talk show, April Simpkins, the former Miss' mother, revealed that she received the fateful message while in an exercise class. Simpkins specified that her daughter timed it so she couldn't "intervene."

"First, I'm sorry, by the time you get this, I will no longer be alive. And it makes me even sadder to write this because I know it will hurt you more. I love you mom, you are my best friend and the person I have lived with for years. I wish I could stay with you, but I can no longer bear the crushing weight of lingering sadness, hopelessness, and loneliness," Kryst wrote to her mother.

"You have kept me alive and ready to face another day because you answer every phone call and are there for me in the blink of an eye. I love you more than anyone I have ever met. You've done nothing wrong, you've done everything right," the model added.

Kryst had previously tried to take her own life

The grieving mother said in the interview that her daughter had previously tried to take her own life.

Simpkins reported in February that her daughter was dealing with "high-functioning depression" that she hid from family members.

Authorities revealed that she left a note that said she wanted to leave everything to her mom. "My mom is my role model. I have always looked up to her and asked for her advice," it read.

Her last and revealing message on social networks.

Before committing suicide, the excess wrote a message on social networks that predicted what was to come. It featured a photo of her with the message: "May this day bring you rest and peace".
