Hi! My name is Max Gillespie. I have a strong background in scalable system design, data management, and mobile app design and deployment; with a specific concentration in Python and Swift. I currently work as a mobile application engineer at Maven Machines, which is a startup based in Pittsburgh, PA. On a day-to-day basis, I work on improving architecture for and adding features to Maven's Android application, which is used by thousands of truck drivers across North America everyday. Recently, I worked as a project leader for Sling Health, which is a healthcare technology incubator in St. Louis. Myself and my four teammates are working to build a product that makes the transfer of Electronic Health Records easier for patients and practice, resulting in less malpractice and higher patient satisfaction. During the project, we built a minimal viable product for what we want our mobile application to look like and what we want our web app to look like. In addition, we have built out a simple blockchain network using Ethereum that can so far handle simple data communication and requisition. For the past three summers, I have worked at Seegrid Corporation, an industrial automation company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During my time with Seegrid, I worked with a myriad of different employees in a number of different positions within the company. I built several projects that ended up being deployed to customers, in addition to building devices that improved internal operations for the company. Several of those projects are noted on my resume. The thing that I have found most rewarding about working on both the Sling Health project and my projects at Seegrid was being given the freedom to sit down and try to better understand a problem, then building a solution and seeing that solution helping people. I'm driven by my desire to build products that impact people and my genuine love for working with different teams to try and solve real problems.
