Polish President Andrei Duda called on Ukraine’s European allies to accelerate its supply of weapons, including tanks.
Addressing the Committee for the Defense of Europe at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday morning, Duda noted that Poland had recently pledged to send about 14 Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
"We hope and try to organize greater support for Ukraine, so we hope there will be a few partners and a few allies, who will provide Ukraine with tanks," he said.
“We hope that the producing country of these tanks – Germany – will also participate in that,” he added.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to his allies for more weapons, including German-made Leopard tanks, where they are important for retaking Russian-controlled territory.
“There’s one message: weapons, weapons, and again weapons, that’s the most important element of this mission,” Duda said.
