Provide end-to-end Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure (GI) patch management services to ensure database environments remain secure, stable, compliant, and optimized for performance. The service includes planning, testing, deployment, validation, and post-patch support across standalone databases, RAC environments, and Oracle Engineered Systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assess current Oracle Database and Grid Infrastructure patch levels and identify required updates.
Plan and schedule patching activities with minimal business disruption.
Apply Oracle Release Updates (RU), Release Update Revisions (RUR), one-off patches, and security patches.
Perform Oracle Grid Infrastructure patching for RAC and Clusterware environments.
Execute rolling and non-rolling patching strategies based on business and technical requirements.
Validate cluster health, database services, listeners, ASM, and Clusterware components before and after patching.
Conduct pre-patch readiness checks and post-patch verification.
Coordinate backup and rollback procedures to mitigate risks.
Troubleshoot patching issues and resolve conflicts or failed patch deployments.
Maintain patch compliance documentation and operational reports.
Support patching activities for Oracle Exadata, Oracle Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.
Ensure adherence to Oracle best practices, security standards, and change management processes.
