Paralegal Work

$20/hr Starting at $500

As a graduate of the Paralegal program at Vancouver Career College, I bring a strong foundation in legal procedures with a focus on Family Law and Civil Litigation. My training emphasized real-world skills that enable me to provide essential support to lawyers and clients throughout every stage of a legal matter.

In Family Law, I am experienced in preparing and managing key documents such as affidavits, financial statements (Form F8), parenting plans, separation agreements, and notices of motion. I understand the emotional and procedural complexities that accompany matters like divorce, custody, child support, guardianship, and property division. I assist with case organization, filing documents through Court Services Online (CSO), scheduling court dates, and liaising with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel with professionalism and discretion.

In Civil Litigation, I am skilled in drafting pleadings such as notices of claim, responses, and applications under the Small Claims Rules and Supreme Court Civil Rules. I assist with document disclosure, compiling evidence, and trial preparation, ensuring all materials meet legal and procedural standards. I am also proficient with case law research using CanLII and other legal databases, helping to build strong arguments and ensure that filings reflect current law.

I bring a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of court processes in British Columbia. I am confident working independently and collaboratively, managing deadlines, and supporting counsel from initial intake through to resolution. With a client-focused mindset and a solid grounding in ethics and confidentiality, I aim to contribute meaningfully to your legal team’s success.
