He is a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces (Seaforth Highlanders), a licensed commercial pilot, and an active community contributor—serving on the Board of Directors at the Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club and volunteering with organizations like Canucks Place and the WW2 Airborne Demonstration Team.
