Before publishing an article or a book, having it edited and proofread are important steps in your publishing success or presentation. I will catch spelling and grammatical errors, and identify issues such as wrong spacing, use of passive voice, and identify if the table of contents does not match chapter headings and ensure consistency throughout the work. As a trained librarian, I pay attention to references and work to ensure the correct format is used for references and citations. Proofreading is done after copyediting and/or developmental editing. It is my job to find what others have missed. I will also prepare an errata sheet, explaining major changes and reasons for them, as well as pointing out obvious errors. Using my knowledge and experience, I will help your work stand out from the competition. I am proficient in both UK and US English. While I work with various style guides, the Chicago Manual of Style is one of my main tools. I normally read for content before editing and/or proofreading the document to get a sense of the author's voice. During this first pass, I will highlight any glaring errors or questionable content.
