I have very broad-ranging scientific and technical expertise, extending over physical and biological sciences, and I can easily learn whatever is necessary to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. This knowledge extends to the mathematics that many scientific fields involve; I understand the mathematics behind several major theories in various fields of science: Maxwell's equations, quantum mechanics, relativity, the works. I also have broad-ranging programming ability, having worked on programming jobs from massive numerical calculations to computer-algebra work to GUI design. I am familiar with a wide variety of programming languages: Fortran, C, C++, Java, Python, Mathematica, Matlab, AppleScript, etc. I have worked on several R&D projects, including improved image-compression algorithms, using artificial neural networks for recognition of spectral lines and gas-chromatograph peaks, etc.
