Writing, like most things in life, depends on communication. A good writer listens to his clients, finds out their needs, then customizes it to fit their desired audience--if needed, listening to the audience to find out how best to communicate with them. I have training in NLP, hypnosis and interviewing, all of which center around the theme of communication. NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) is essentially a set of concepts and techniques for modeling excellence; many therapeutic and business marketing techniques have come out of it. Hypnosis, especially as it applies to writing, is the art of engaging the imagination of the reader and really selling them on your ideas. Interviewing is fairly obvious. I can work with clients who want just a little tightening and editing, as well as employers who need something written more from scratch.
