Ryan Giggs trial live: Ex-footballer called 'team meetings' with family over teaspoons being loaded incorrectly in dishwasher

Ryan Giggs has revealed that he called "team meetings" with his ex-partner, Kate Greville, and his family over tablespoons being loaded the "wrong way round" in the dishwasher during lockdown.

Questioned by Chris Daw QC, for the defence, whether any arguments had taken place at his home during that period, Mr Giggs said: "Yeah - when you’re living on top of each other there was the odd bickering, but no big arguments."

He added: "We would get up and make juices and then my daughter's boyfriend would get up and he would be cooking and the dishwasher - it would be three or four cycles a day. Sometimes the glasses were the wrong way round or the tablespoons were the wrong way round.

"So, I would call a team meeting, and I would say to everyone, not just Kate, 'can we please just put the tablespoons the right way round?'... It wasn’t a big argument."

Mr Daw QC then asked Mr Giggs: "Did you call it a team meeting?" And the ex-footballer responded: "Well, yes, after a time, I was just like, 'that’s enough now. I’m sick of doing the dishwashers 24/7'."

Mr Giggs is charged with controlling and coercive behaviour against Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020. He denies the charges.
