I am a seasoned, passionate, agile software architect and engineer looking for some side projects. I have worked in software engineering for over 17 years at major US and International corporations. My experience ranges from telecom to financial services, and I currently work in the location mapping space. I love a challenge. I am an expert Java developer, with extensive experience in concurrency. Most of my experience has been on the server side, developing back end services. I've designed both relational and NoSQL databases, and integrated them with software applications. I'm quickly picking up Scala - a natural evolution for the Java ecosystem, and one I don't want to miss! In my current job, I have experience developing and running applications on Amazon Web Services. I have a US liberal arts undergraduate degree (computer science major) and a Master's degree in computer science, so I know how to bridge tech-speak with business. My communication ability gives me a leg up in this field. I have worked on many different business initiatives in my software career and I can build the right solution for your business. I have a passion for programming and building software systems that delight my employers and clients and meet business needs.
