Special Event Planning

$5/hr Starting at $500

Client examples of event planning: * For six years straight, we handled all of the logistics for the Women Leaders in Medicine Award Reception, held at the American Medical Student Association Annual Convention. The event attracts hundreds of attendees as well as world-famous award recipients. * Responsible for the International Pet and Animal Transportation Association Annual Awards Dinner & Gala each year. This event is the highlight of the organization's international conference and attracts over 200 attendees. * Organize small to large fundraising events for the Children's Well-Being Foundation, an organization seeking donations to keep medical clinics open in Costa Rica. * Coordinated the first National PharmFree Day to raise awareness of the AMSA PharmFree Campaign. The “pen dump” outside Pfizer World Headquarters was featured on CNN and kicked off a flood of media requests from almost every national newspaper including USA Today, New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. The campaign has been instrumental in moving the medical community toward resisting pharmaceutical industry marketing. * Received national media attention surrounding the safety of automated external defibrillators in the home after planning special event at the National Press Club to initiate discussion around the issue. Afterwards, my team launched these devices and partnered with CVS Pharmacy. This campaign won several prestigious industry awards, including a Communicator Crystal Award, a Silver SABRE and a Bronze Anvil. * Organized the keynote presentation at a AMSA Annual Convention. For the first time, the keynote took a debate format featuring Dr. Paul T. Antony, Chief Medical Officer for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and Dr. Bob Goodman, Founder of www.NoFreeLunch.org. The event attracted a record-breaking 1,500 people to the annual meeting.

Kimberely worked very on our project. We were very happy with the way she communicated her own ideas and took changes in the correct manner. Very strong communication skills with a great ability to work on topics she is not familiar with. We look forward to working with her again soon.
