Static/Fixed Equipment Engineering

$150/hr Starting at $25

Static Equipment (Pressure Vessels, Furnaces, Tanks and Heat Exchangers) 30+ years experience. Texas A&M Mechanical Engineering Degree PE license. Not a CAD or program jockey (adept at Compress, PV Elite, Disasu, RCS, Mathcad, Nastran FEA). Not as inexpensive as a non licensed engineer or a designer (you get what you pay for). Designed 15 ethylene crackers (ethane furnaces, quench towers, acid gas removal system, spent caustic system, dryers, chilling train, demethanizer, deethanizer, depropanizer, debutanizer, ethane and propane splitters). Designed 1,000 + drums and columns to ASME B&PV Code Sec. VIII Div. 1, 2 and 3, API 510 for refinery, chemical process plants, upstream and midstream including repair, rerating and turna-rounds. Fitness for service (API 579) used to rate and rerate new, existing and replacement pressure vessels for revised and changed process and environmental conditions. API 510 & NBIC rerates. Designed 250+ Tanks to API 620, 650, 2000 and 2610 for both crude oil and product. Fitness for service (API 579) used to rate and rerate new, existing and replacement tanks for revised and changed process and environmental conditions. Low temperature applications incorporated heating coils and insulation (provided heat transfer calculations). Pre-feed, feed, select, detailed design, fabrication support, construction support, commissioning support and post commissioning support. Rerates, turnarounds, new trains, train modifications and train enhancements. Specified and designed tanks for LNG and LPG storage and transportation. Fixed tanks 5,000 gal (20 m3) – 5,000,000 gal (20,000 m3). Engineering and designed tanks, instrumentation, fire detec-tion/suppression systems and piping (internal and interconnecting to the tank boundary). Mobile tanks 100 gal (0.4 m3) – 5,000 gal (20 m3). Engineering and designed tanks, piping, instrumentation, fire detection/suppression systems and trailer interface or skid and outer frame (including lifting lugs). Designed 300+ heat exchangers for upstream, midstream, refinery and process plant service. Tube and shell, U-tube, flat plate, fin fan air cooled, gas - gas, liquid - liquid and gas - liquid. Fitness for service (API 579) used to rate and rerate new, existing and replacement heat exchangers for revised and changed process and environmental conditions. Hand calculations, used Compress, Disasu, PV Elite, RCS Win and FEA. TEMA calculations. Constructed parametric model based on FEA for flat plate heat exchangers. Calculations included loadings (pressure, thermal, seismic and wind).
