Earlier, the US embassy in Sudan called for an immediate cessation of violence in the Blue Nile region and West Kordofan state, after dozens of people were killed and injured in violence.
The embassy said, via Twitter, that the government should engage the affected communities in a dialogue to restore peace, and called for the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to ensure assistance is provided to people affected by the violence.
And the Sudanese army announced recently that forces from the People's Movement in the north of the country, bombed neighborhoods in the city of Lagawa, West Kordofan State, with mortar shells targeting the city's market and two residential neighborhoods.
