Jorge Barrera has extensive experience in sourcing and supplier management and development. As Director of Engineering and Production at Formulatrix Inc., he was responsible for the management and planning of production, suppliers, and technical staff. He also consolidated product as best in class over GE and Philips' competing products and innovated in designing and manufacturing equipment to automate crystallography processes. His work at Formulatrix involved consolidating design, development, and production operations and hiring the work team. He also implemented processes for "product lifecycle management" and "software".
Furthermore, as a Lead User and Consultant, he applied lessons learned from managing engineering and production at Formulatrix to design Bill of Materials (BOMs) capabilities for the MFG web interface, linking them to quote generation and costing models. He also improved several services on the site to streamline parts management, suppliers, and inventory. His HP experience also exposed him to RFPs and partner development.
