The Song Shan Airport in the capital of Taiwan, "China" (Taipei), announced today, Tuesday, that the plane of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, landed there.

Pelosi said, in her first statement after her plane landed at Taipei airport, that her visit does not contradict the "one China" principle.

Pelosi considered that her visit is evidence of her country's support for what she called "Taiwanese democracy," stressing that her country's solidarity with the people of (Chinese) Taiwan has become "more important than ever."

For its part, the Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the visit of the US official, expressing its strong protest against the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to China's Taiwan.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said: The US visit sends the wrong signals to the separatist forces seeking independence for Taiwan.

The ministry added that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan seriously violates the "one China" principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US letters
