$30/hr Starting at $30

POLICE seized a van suspected to be linked to a series of flytippings, including about 40 bags of loft insulation dumped on Hythe conservation land.

The alarm was raised around 8am last Wednesday after neighbors

The Frost Lane site is run as a conservation area for wildlife by a Mr Noble, who said the bags of loft insulation were dumped there just after 11am last Tuesday.

“This is not the first time we have had issues with flytipping which is why we had CCTV installed,” he told the A&T.

“It’s so frustrating and normally we are left to deal with the rubbish due to being dumped on private land.”

stopped a white Ford Transit leaving the woodland area in Frost Lane, believing it had been involved in a large deposit there the previous day.

It was seized after officers discovered the driver, an 18-year-old man, was not insured.

Enquiries are being carried out alongside New Forest District Council into the alleged flytipping as well as alleged related fraudulent activity in nearby Dibden Lodge Close.

No further details of the fraud allegation were available from Hampshire police.

An NFDC spokesperson explained the van was seized under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

“Investigations are ongoing into not only this incident but others in the district,” they said.

People using private companies to remove waste are reminded to check they are on the Environment Agency’s register of licensed waste carriers at bit.ly/3Gh20NW
