I have over 6 years of experience writing server-side database-driven software primarily using Java and PHP. The databases are usually SQL, either PostgreSQL, MySQL or recently a little MSSQL. In the course of my work I have gained familiarity with the Spring MVC, Wordpress, Symfony and Laravel frameworks. I have also written the odd billing integration and worked with several APIs I had never before (or since) seen in the wild. Typically it takes me very little time to get up and running with a new framework so long as it uses a paradigm I am familiar with (e.g. MVC) and if you think your code looks bad or unreadable I have probably fixed worse. I am very proficient in diagnosing bugs and fixing them while having a very strong awareness of good coding practices, keeping my solutions clean and maintainable. I will, however, always be sensitive to the costs of my client so I will almost always aim for the simplest solution possible while maintaining proper professionalism. I have picked up strong communication and team-working skills, most of it was working in a team of developers while reporting to non-technical teams and their management.
