Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp allows himself to just think of a dramatic scenario in the Premier League title race, so that former Reds captain Stephen Gerrard and current Aston Villa coach help his former team at the expense of Manchester City.

While Klopp was joking about wanting Gerrard to be on the pitch, he stressed that he didn't care how things would go next Sunday.

“I can only understand those situations by putting myself in the situation,” Klopp said. If I’m going to play a game and I can help Borussia Dortmund or Mainz, that would be an extra motivation for me, but I don’t play.”

“But Gerrard doesn’t play and that’s a pity,” Klopp continued.

He explained: “We are all human beings. Stevie will take the game 100% seriously. I’m sure, without talking to him or whatever, I don’t need to, maybe some at the club did but I didn’t.”
