When I was a kid I loved to draw - like so many other kids. My favorite thing to draw was Garfield. I could draw him anywhere at any time with pretty much any vaguely artistic supplies. I always got rave reviews for my drawings, and with ongoing encouragement from family and friends I ended up going to college in my home state of Nebraska to get a double major in K-12 Art Education and English Literature.
After graduating from college I moved to California and life got a little crazy. I had a series of fairly random jobs before I became interested in the web. I decided to get a BS degree in Software Engineering and spent over ten years focusing on tech and drinking way too much coffee.
But after so many years I started missing my arty life, so I transitioned my career into User Experience Design and decided to focus my personal energy in the evenings and weekends on regaining my art skills.
Since the beginning of that journey I've become a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and written and illustrated seven books, most of them in my 8 League Adventures world, with plans for many more.
