I started my career in broadcasting, which quickly led me to an early Assistant Director role in Surabaya. Looking to broaden my horizons, I moved into the corporate world and built up solid experience as a Sales Executive across a handful of companies.
Then came journalism a shift that landed me in a demanding Photojournalist position in Jakarta. The environment wasn’t quite right for me, but it pushed me toward the digital world just as it was starting to take off. I jumped in, handling social media and digital marketing strategies before those even became buzzwords. That flexibility set me up for a longer stretch as a field photojournalist for a well-known magazine, covering all sorts of fast-moving, complex stories in the mining sector.
Eventually, having health issues forced me to step back from the grind of full-time fieldwork. Still, I kept my camera in hand, taking freelance photography gigs on weekends to stay sharp and passionate about the work. Later, I put my career on pause to focus on family and became a full-time caregiver for my mother. After she passed away, I returned to the professional world this time as a content writer in the gaming industry while also freelancing as a photographer with a leading media outlet in Indonesia.
