Urban and Regional Planner with GIS and MS Office expertise.
I have worked as an Urban and Regional Planner in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey since I graduated from Istanbul Technical University until I moved to UK in October 2019.
I expect to have a Master’s Degree in Geographical Information Technologies Programme in 2020 (satisfied all requirements, except dissertation presentation)
I am experienced in ArcGIS, Autocad, NetCad, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, Photoshop and a number of other software.
I have processed various types of data such as land use, density, cadastral, socio-demographical, meteorological etc.
I work with both geospatial (vector and raster data) and attribute data.
As an Urban and Regional Planner and GIS Expert, I am experienced with all steps:
1. Data acquisition: paper maps, digital files, remote sensing, fieldwork, etc.
2. Preprocessing: format conversion, digitizing, scanning, coordinate system, etc. 3. Data management: variable selection, table design, data entry, update, etc.
4. Manipulation and Analysis: address matching, network analysis, proximity analysis, terrain modeling, etc.
5. Product generation: tabular reports, maps, charts, plans.
I have two scientific articles (SCI-indexed) published, coauthored during my graduate studies in GIS.
Addition to my planning and using GIS skills, I am very experienced in Microsoft Office .
Since I have been working at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality as an urban planner (officer) I have written:
- hundreds of official letters
- hundreds of planning reports
I have made hundreds of data entry to design a database and I have digitized hundreds of documents.
Because both GIS applications and urban planning are decision support systems, they require a high level of accuracy, and I am confident with my assiduity, completing my projects flawlessly.
Also, I am very fast in typing, copy typing, web-searching, preparing presentation, converting pdf to excel, word, etc.
