Founder, Green Reconstructors | UNIDO-certified Energy Management Systems Expert & Trainer -helping industry cut costs, meet ESG goals, and build resource-efficient, sustainable operations.
I help industrial, commercial, agriculture, mining and hospitality businesses cut energy costs, reduce resource waste, and meet ESG and sustainable finance reporting requirements, combining hands-on technical assessment with practical, on-the-ground project delivery.
My path into this work started with a BSc in Biotechnology, which gave me a solid scientific foundation and a genuine curiosity for how energy systems, biological or industrial, actually work. That curiosity led me into energy and resource efficiency early on: a Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production internship in 2017 had me analysing energy, water, and waste data on a factory floor, and I was captivated. Since then, I've spent over nine years building a career at the intersection of energy management, sustainability, and stakeholder coordination, across South Africa and the wider SADC region.
Along the way, I became a UNIDO-certified Energy Management Systems Implementation Expert and Trainer, trained directly in UNIDO's own technical frameworks. I've coordinated multi-stakeholder projects for government entities, large institutional clients, and private-sector partners, negotiated Power Purchase Agreements, managed tenders and vendor relationships across multiple countries, and led energy and resource efficiency assessments across industries ranging from citrus and food processing to hospitality and laboratory services.
In 2025, I founded Green Reconstructors, where I now serve as lead assessor and project coordinator, delivering Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production and Energy Management System projects end-to-end, from initial assessment through implementation and reporting. I'm currently completing an MBA specialising in Energy and Sustainability, alongside a certification in ESG Reporting and Sustainable Finance, because the technical and financial sides of sustainability work need to speak the same language to actually move projects forward.
What I care about most is practical impact. I've seen too much sustainability work stay stagnant across industries at the level of good intentions or glossy reporting. My focus is on identifying real, measurable savings, energy, water, waste, emissions, and translating that into optimised operational work, reporting and financial language for boards, banks, and development partners. I'm equally comfortable walking a factory floor with an engineer and sitting across the table from a client explaining what a project means for their ESG position.
Outside of client work, I genuinely enjoy the technical detail of this field, energy audits, measurement and verification, the mechanics of process & system optimisation, but I try never to lose sight of the fact that behind every assessment is a business trying to do better, often with limited time and resources. That's the client I try to be useful to.
I'm currently open to project-based, part-time, and retainer consulting work, remote or on-site, across SADC region and globally.
Work Terms
Hours of Operation: I'm generally available Monday to Friday, [08:00–17:00 SAST], and can accommodate calls outside these hours for clients in different time zones with advance notice.
Communication: I respond to messages within 24 hours on business days. My preferred channels are Guru messaging or WhatsApp for quick questions and initial scoping, followed by video calls (Zoom/Teams/Google Meet) for detailed discussions, and written correspondence for formal documentation and reporting.
Project Scoping: Before starting any engagement, I provide a short scoping call or written proposal outlining deliverables, timeline, and cost, so both parties are aligned before work begins.
Payment Terms: I invoice per completed deliverable or agreed project milestone, payable within 7 days. For longer engagements, milestones are agreed upfront as part of project scoping, so payment is tied clearly to work delivered. All payments are processed securely through Guru for transparency on both sides.
Revisions & Scope Changes: Minor clarifications and revisions within the agreed scope are included. Significant scope changes will be discussed and quoted separately before proceeding, to keep timelines and budgets predictable for both of us.
Site Visits: For assessments requiring on-site work (energy audits, trainings, RECP/EnMS assessments), travel costs and logistics are agreed and quoted separately based on location.
I value clear, proactive communication and aim to flag any risks to timeline or scope as early as possible, rather than at the point of delivery.
