I am a graduate of Master’s degree in General Public Health (GMPH) with 4 years’ work experience in my MPH and previously a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health as expert Public Health professional.
I am currently working in different freelance works such as conducting qualitative & quantitative research, data collection, Transcriptions, Translation & Annotation works, Video Editing & Motion Graphics Designing in different organizations both online & physically. Previously I used to work in different NGOs & governmental organizations with different position titles such as OVC Service Specialist, Technical Officer of Community Engagement Facilitation in USAID Global HIV/AIDS Epidemics Control grant also other LIP partner of PSI/USAID-funded comprehensive HIV Services for Key and priority populations at Addis Ababa Head Office in a position titled Private-Public- Networks or Facilities Health Services Coordinator with frequent travel to different regions such as SNNPR, Oromiya & Gambela.
I have worked with different research centers like ABH Services Plc., Frontier-I Research center & ICONSKonsult as a part time activity in both qualitative and quantitative research. I participated in a pre-test on female genital mutilation (FGAE) both FGD and in-depth interview transcript translation works. I also worked in a data collection sponsored by KOICA, UNICEF by ABH Services Plc. in Bench Maji zone and Keffa on MNCH.
I also worked in government office as HIV Prevention and Control Officer and also in another organization; ARRA (Administration for Refugees-Returnee Affairs) which is the principal partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in a position titled as public Health Coordinator. With ARRA I had mostly occupied the position of Public Health, responsible for community base activities, Surveillances, HIV & TB programs, survey activities, medical care services and so on and other in Arat Kilo Child Care and Community Development as health and nutrition officer and social worker. I served as voluntary services in Yekatit 12 hospital.
My experience with ARRA / UNHCR had given me the opportunity to understand the broad operations of the UN system, especially in areas of emergency, difficult and precarious security situations such as Gambela region. I also had extensive professional experience in collaboration with different NGO and different levels of government institutions. I understand the cultural dynamics and the general framework of working ethics. Similarly, I am a team player who works excellently with people from diverse geographic locations (NGO Staff), as well as people of special needs such as refugees, internally displaced persons, and people in local communities.
