Derek Strum is a Houston-ish, Texas-based freelance writer. He was born and raised in the Chicago area before relocating to the Lone Star State in 2011. Derek received his bachelor of arts from Columbia College Chicago in 2006 with a major in journalism and a minor in fiction writing.
Derek has been writing for newspapers, websites and student publications for more than a decade. His work includes reporting and opinion writing with subjects such as film, sports and politics.
Derek’s more recent work has been ghostwriting website content for clients all over the country. Confidentiality agreements prohibit that material from being posted to this website, but samples can be provided upon request.
In his free time, Derek enjoys reading the newspaper, completing the daily Sudoku puzzle, and eating Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
