About

Adding a touch of elegance, refinement, and pleasure through photography.

Dianna Parrott was raised by her single mother in an inner-city housing project in St. Paul, Minnesota. In the 4th grade, Dianna’s family moved from the inner city to the suburb of Mahtomedi. Having survived severe trauma in the inner city and having a learning disability, it was not discovered until she was 9 years old that Dianna could hardly read. The new school found that Dianna had severe dyslexia and she was finally introduced to teachers who helped her learn and thrive. Dianna drew constantly, using art as an escape and a way to communicate her emotions. In her freshman year in high school, her art teacher took an interest in her work and encouraged her to show it. Dianna was the first freshman to place in the Best 100 art competition at the Institute of Art Minneapolis in 1988. During her junior year in high school, she began to study photography at Northeast Metro 916 Technical College. Dianna has always had a passion for art and continued to learn everything she could while raising her children. Suffering from Kyphosis of the spine and many years of heavy physical labor, At the age of 36, Dianna suffered from multiple spinal cord fractures that resulted in full spinal rods. Her doctors encouraged her to pursue an education to advance herself and avoid heavy physical labor that could produce future fractures. Dianna then decided it was the perfect opportunity to pursue her love of art through photography and she will graduate from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2017 with her Bachelor of Science degree. Dianna has a passion for fine art, still life, and macro photography. She tells her story through images and shares her point of view through photography and by helping children reach their potential in the A+ after school program.
