Hello, I’m Itaru Tokuda, a full-stack software engineer with over 4 years of professional experience building web applications, AI-powered systems, and cloud infrastructure.
I specialize in developing practical AI solutions that deliver real business value. Recently, my main focus has been on AI agent development, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, and performance optimization for AI-driven platforms. My work includes improving the speed and accuracy of Text-to-SQL agents for business analytics, building domain-specific RAG search systems, and developing AI-powered tools such as career advisors and intelligent search platforms.
I provide end-to-end development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure. I actively work with AWS to design scalable, production-ready architectures and ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
In addition to engineering, I have experience leading development teams as a Project Manager at a Shopify-focused company in an English-speaking environment. This role strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, manage projects, and deliver results in global and remote teams.
I also have experience working as a digital nomad, which has helped me adapt quickly to new environments, cultures, and workflows. I am highly self-driven, curious, and always eager to learn new technologies.
In my daily workflow, I actively use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex to improve productivity and code quality. I continuously study emerging technologies through hands-on projects and infrastructure training.

Work Terms
Hours of Operation:
I am available Monday–Sunday, including weekends. While I am based in Japan (JST), I make every effort to adjust my schedule to align with your local time zone for smooth communication and collaboration.
Communication:
I am comfortable communicating in English and working with international teams. I provide regular updates and maintain clear, responsive communication throughout the project.
