I am a Senior Data Engineer with over 15 years of experience designing, scaling, and optimizing enterprise data platforms. My career spans healthcare, insurance, and large-scale corporate environments, where I’ve built and modernized pipelines processing terabytes of sensitive data under HIPAA compliance.
My technical expertise includes Spark (Scala/PySpark), Hive, SQL, Python, Ab Initio, Kafka, AWS S3, and Iceberg-based data lakehouse modernization. I specialize in transforming complex data challenges into secure, analytics-ready solutions that improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
At Florida Blue, I led large-scale ETL and streaming projects, migrated legacy DB2/Oracle workloads to modern AWS cloud infrastructures, and implemented data quality frameworks to support business-critical decisions. In parallel, I spent a decade as a Senior Implementation Engineer (Wired4Health / Craneware), building ETL pipelines for HL7 and EDI data and mentoring a team of engineers.
Beyond my technical career, I’m a certified CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and enjoy mentoring both in professional and community settings. I’m passionate about problem-solving, automation, and building systems that empower businesses and people alike.

Work Terms
Hours of Operation: Flexible, available for part-time, contract, or project-based work. Primarily available evenings and weekends, with additional weekday flexibility for urgent needs.
Payment Terms: Payments through SafePay (Guru’s secure system). Open to fixed-price or hourly contracts depending on scope.
Communication: Prefer clear written communication via Guru messages. Available for scheduled calls/Zoom meetings when needed. Prompt and transparent communication is a top priority.
