Hello! I am a very experienced learning and development professional with a graduate degree in adult distance learning, published research in a peer reviewed journal, speaking and article writing experience, a former college teacher and a learning nerd! When I started my professional career I was a teacher with a passion for technology and the notion that people should be able to learn and grow in any way that suits them best. I became a leadership practitioner with training from some of the best minds in the US, UK and Canada and went to work applying that leadership to my professional journey.
I have been a consultant for many years and have worked with banks, hospitals, universities, and professional associations. I guess you could say I'm comfortable teaching and developing almost everywhere!
I am based in Toronto, ON, Canada but available to work anywhere - particularly in this remote world. Three words that guide my daily life and work: integrity, honesty, trust. You will get that from me and the work I do for you. I am very good at mapping all kinds of complicated information back to a simple path and that is how I lead my life, my professional work, and is a skill I can apply to your work.
Working with me comes with an open mindedness only developed through learning to work and live with children! Mine are now in their 20s, are awesome, and are challenging me to rethink socio-cultural norms and expectations daily. It's fun! I am not afraid of the 'big' tasks - they are just a series of little tasks all wearing one coat.
I am a huge fan of many nerdy things: science fiction, octopi, architecture, and cookbooks! I love to be outside and I am happiest when I have a good cup of coffee, a good book, and sunshine in my face!
Work Terms
I work during EST weekly daytime hours (usually 8 - 1400h) based in Canada. Pricing is in Canadian dollars and I prefer to be paid via EFT. I am available as an hourly consultant (time and materials contracting), set project fee, and retainer as is appropriate to the work that is delivered and required. I am not generally available during the 2nd last week of September or the last week of November but it is dependent on your project needs.
