I am passionate and highly skilled in creating powerful messages for companies utilizing graphics, the written word and/or social media. I began my own marketing and communication business with my college roommate in 2007. I was just 20 years old at the time and still attending Goshen College, my beloved alma mater. I was fortunate enough to graduate at the top of my class with an Interdisciplinary Degree in Communication, Psychology and Women's Studies.
After graduation, I moved to Indianapolis and explored a career in social work while working in graphic design and marketing part-time. Although I was very intrigued by how people thought and behaved, I soon realized that social work wasn't a good long-term fit for me. Since my partner and I's business kept growing during my time in school, I decided to give my attention to our business. I was able to take classes at the masters level in IUPUI's Applied Communication Program to help refocus my path and further my education. Once my partner and I found a third partner, our business was incorporated as The Bindy Agency.
During my time with The Bindy Agency, I was the lead graphic and web designer, as well as being involved in the following: client management, public relations, content creation, information architecture, research and development, to name a few. Those of us who have managed or owned our own businesses know how stressful it can be, but we are also aware that the experience teaches and shapes us in extremely positive ways. Being a company owner, or manager, sharpens your skills and empowers you with innumerable tools including determination, passionate work ethic, critical thinking, problem solving, positive leadership, synergistic collaboration and more. All of these tools are the keys to the success that I am that I passionately bring to whatever work environment I find myself in.
