I'm a 2D and vector illustrator, character designer, concept and comic artist with 20+ years experience in advertising, publishing, editorial, toys, games, and product packaging.
I have been a professional illustrator, character designer, and digital artist for over 20 years. I've completed numerous advertising, packaging, editorial, publishing, toy & game projects for major repeat clients such as Hasbro, Lego, & Scholastic. I am a longtime power user of both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and am equally comfortable illustrating Vector art or high-resolution Photoshop art.
In addition to the cartoony styles prevalent on my site, I'd like to emphasize that I'm also an accomplished "style mimic" and am very skilled at emulating a wide range of popular and current styles that are more adult and quite different from my own, either in Vector or Photoshop. This is a skill that has come in very handy, as it's been a recurring request from art directors, ad agencies and publications when they've decided they really want a certain trendy look but the original artist they had in mind is unavailable. So please consider me your Vector or Photoshop "style mimic" or "style chameleon" for such projects!
I'm a NYC native and worked for years as a mac operator in NYC ad agencies, and am very comfortable with the agency system and interacting with clients. I am professional, courteous and extremely reliable - and ALWAYS on time. I make a point of being very easy to work with. As a former mac operator, my art files are always delivered in mac studio-approved, neatly organized and properly-labeled layers, to facilitate later editing and repurposing by agency art studios (this is a big plus to art directors and art studio managers!).
As a testimony to my reliability and the quality of my work, I have been represented by Mendola Artists, Ltd in NY and Spectrum Studio in MN among others for many years. However I am always also seeking additional projects, hence my presence on Guru.com!
I am interested in freelance projects that I can work on remotely from my home studio.
