I love to call myself a "word nerd." I have loved the written word since learning to read at a very young age. This love of language led to a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Master of Arts in Technical and Professional Writing.
I am a seasoned technical writer and editor, and I have written and created many different standard operating procedures for various software and technologies. My passion for writing has also helped me in classroom settings, teaching both introductions to writing and technical writing classes at the university level.
I have recently been introduced to the world of instructional design and found that it did not differ greatly from my experience as a technical writer. I have created training for instructor-led and web-based courses.
I love learning different software. I am proficient in almost all of Microsoft Office programs and am comfortable in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I also enjoy using Snagit and Camtasia for creating screen capture images and e-learning videos.
Not only am I passionate about writing, but I also love reading. I spend most of my free time with my nose in a book.
Work Terms
I am flexible when it comes to working hours. I prefer a standard 8 AM – 5 PM schedule, but I happy to change those hours based on the project.
My rate range is $32 – $40 an hour, depending on the scope of the project.
I do not mind discussing projects on the phone, but am happier with quick input and directions via email.
