About

Electronics Product Development Engineer

I have 7 years experience working for startups and small businesses and I'm looking to turn some of my free time into opportunities to work on new projects. I'm intrigued by the prospect of freelance engineering as a way to combat the repetition of a full time engineering position. In my role as a product development engineer I have designed batteries, chargers, automotive test equipment, communication systems as well as helping nearly every one of my employers get their internal electronic design capabilities off the ground. I'm currently working on Bluetooth 4.0 systems and developing adapter modules to provide Bluetooth Low Energy capability to a half dozen legacy products. I'm also involved in mesh radio and GNSS projects.

Work Terms

I would work mostly in the evenings (after 6PM CST) or on weekends. As for payment terms, I'm still new at the freelance world so at first I would be flexible. I would prefer a clear set of requirements and milestones up front if possible but I'm open to negotiation on this point.
