Since 2008, I worked as a freelance subtitle translator for a global localization company, SDI Media Indonesia, in Jakarta. In the same year, I was recruited to be a full-time editor on their company, and get promoted as the Head of Subtitling Editor in 2011. As head of the subtitling editor, I supervised seven editors.

I resigned from the SDI Media Indonesia in 2012 and continued to work as one of their freelance translators. I take this time to pursue my other interests, which are travelling and art. I moved to Yogyakarta in 2013 and landed a job as an assistant to the artist-in-residence in Sewon Art Space, Yogyakarta. On 2014, as a side project, I teamed up with a friend and made a documentary about the transgender and social issue in Yogyakarta called “The Waria Streets”. Our documentary has been screened in some festivals, such as Brighton Trans Pride Festival 2016 and Bali International Film Festival 2016.

My experience as a translator also landed me several new clients. I’ve been translating documentaries for VICE Media Indonesia, translating climate change media campaign for 350.org, and other subtitle translation works for NG Subtitling. Now I’m living in Coimbra, Portugal, and continue to work as a freelance translator.

Work Terms

- I can work up to 8 hours per day.
- I can translate approximately five minutes of video in one hour (or around or around 400-600 words).
- In some cases, I don't mind to work on the weekend.
- I live in GMT timezone.
