Project managing your life to success!
Hi, there! My name is Christine, aka OahuPM, and I’m very happy to meet you!
I have been both a Business Analyst (BA) and a Project Manager (PM) for more than twelve years. I also have a Masters Degree in Project Management, so technically speaking I get to put MPM after my name. Hey, not as prestigious as an MD, maybe, but I like it!
I started OahuPM with the express purpose of wanting to put my years of experience to use helping other people. So many times in my life I have watched friends, acquaintances and in some cases complete strangers, struggle with Overwhelm – and yes, I meant to give that a capital O!
Whether it’s a job where their employer is expecting them to do the work of four people or something personal like their dog constantly escaping from their yard and chasing unsuspecting passers-by, I have watched people slowly spiral into depression, I have seen them implode spectacularly, I have seen their stress lead to them lashing out at those closest to them and I have witnessed people turning into human monsters all because they had so much to do and no idea at all where to begin. Marriages have broken up, children have become estranged, people have been fired from their positions…the list goes on. I honestly just cannot take watching my fellow human beings suffer anymore. ??
While thinking about all of these one day it occurred to me that I have been helping my own ‘ohana (family by choice) as long as I’ve known and lived with them (just about as long as I’ve been a BA and PM!) and on a personal front, have used my own homegrown step-by-step system for tackling problems, projects and challenges one small chunk at a time. My friends, employers and I have achieved great success as a result of the way I do things and I will be sharing those successes with everyone as things progress!
