Not only would I define myself as a determined individual, I also take pride in my achievements resulting from my strong-willed and driven nature. One word that would greatly illustrate my life is ‘determined’. I believe that my determination allows me to receive benefits that one typically wouldn’t garner, and bridges the gap between what makes a successful individual, bereft from being socially affluent. A significant product of my determination is the acceptance of the school I currently attend. I presently go to a respected boarding school that draws its majority population of students from those who can afford the tuition—a hefty price to pay if one wasn’t well off.If one were wealthy, it would be easy to thrive without being heavily invested on academics. If the latter, it was destined to live in mediocrity. I however, did not plan on allowing the values of mere assets determine the quality of the aspirations I wanted to pursue. I desired to attend this school more than ever, and knowing that the only possibility I had of being accepted was to acquire the marks, I settled on employing everything I had to achieve the high marks. With month after month of tireless and endless studying, it was my determination and perseverance that kept me focused on my objectives. I ended up receiving full marks and received a 99% average. I became one of those accepted to the school from my academics rather than wealth, a rare feat to accomplish.My determination lets me believe that I am able to create my own destiny.Furthermore, another word that describes me would be ‘passionate’. I myself, am an avid fan of all things passionate and genuine, and strive to be passionate in all that I do.It is also passion that drives me to broaden the horizons of comfort, finding the confidence to try new things and search for unfamiliar opportunities.
