From messy data to meaningful results.
I am a clinical research professional with over 3 years of experience at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where I worked on hospital-based research projects involving patient data management, data extraction, and research coordination. My work focused on handling clinical datasets, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting research teams by preparing clean, structured data for analysis in a highly regulated environment.
Through this experience, I developed strong skills in data collection, entry, cleaning, preprocessing, and basic analysis support. I have become highly detail-oriented and comfortable working with large, complex datasets where accuracy and consistency are essential. I am proficient in tools such as Excel , Google Sheets and statistical software such as Stata, R and Python. I understand the importance of transforming raw, messy data into analysis-ready formats that support meaningful research outcomes.
My approach to work is grounded in precision, reliability, and clarity. I value delivering high-quality, well-organized data that clients can trust for decision-making and analysis. I am particularly experienced in environments where data integrity and confidentiality are critical, and I apply the same level of care to all freelance projects.
Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor hiking and reading. Hiking helps me stay focused and observant, while reading—especially in science and psychology—strengthens the way I think about systems, patterns, and information. These interests complement my professional mindset by reinforcing curiosity, discipline, and attention to detail.
A key part of my professional growth came from realizing that in research settings, the most important step is often not analysis itself, but preparing data so that it is usable. I naturally became the person teams relied on to clean and structure datasets, and I enjoy this process of turning disorganized information into something clear and meaningful.
I am now applying these skills in freelance work, offering reliable data entry, cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis support for clients who need accurate and well-structured datasets.
