Where it began
As a child, I had no one to play with. The highlight of my week was a trip to the library, before which I would purloin the membership cards of every person in my family in order to be assured of a large haul. To my dismay, I would finish twelve books by the end of the following day, and be left bereft for the next five days.
Eventually, I came to realise that lengthier books would provide many more hours of reading pleasure. And so, escaping the zealous efforts of library attendants seeking to forcefully reunite me with my parents, I fled into the adult readers section and never looked back.
Today, I work as an editor in the day, and work on my books at night. I try to read a thousand books each year. I'm not even close but I'm still working towards that.
