Consulting Futurist
My journey to becoming a Consulting Futurist started out as a commercial Accountant with IBM. My career progressed through the insurance and civil engineering industries to a stage where I was CFO in Asia of a substantial international conglomerate. In that organization I was placed in charge of development of feasibility studies in a wide range of industries, including mining, shipping and forestry. This led to my involvement in the development of financial modeling software, which IBM then used as the lead for its hardware computer sales.
In 1990, I relocated to Indonesia and became the President Director of KPMG's International Consulting Group based in Jakarta. My board of directors was comprised of KPMG Consulting practice leaders from Netherlands, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
Due to political conflicts, I relocated my family to Singapore in 2000 and established my own performance improvement consultancy, based on The Balanced Scorecard. My major clients have been Microsoft, , Singapore Ministry of Defence, Petronas and Sapura Energy.
I became a Consulting Futurist after accepting a commission from the Malaysian Government to research the topic of Scenario Planning for use by their long-term planning committee.
