Iris was born and went to school in Germany. In 1986 she moved with her family to Canada. She now lives in a beautiful little town in northern Ontario, Canada. The winters are long and cold that gave her time to do things at home, and one of her favorite things to do is reading. Coincidentally, on one of those cold days, a book from her childhood fell into her hands again. The little book was left to her by her Grandfather, who taught her how to read Old German Gothic and Fraktur letters.

Since her retirement, Iris had the time to scan the Book into her computer. At first, she did that to keep the stories for her grandchildren alive, there was only one problem with that, they don't speak or read German. Iris decided to translate the old stories, Aesops Fables, and others, written by mostly unknown writers in Gothic and old German, into English.

Many Years ago Iris found a little self-published booklet in a Library in Germany where the Stories were written on one page in German, and the next page in English, that's how she got the idea to do something similar with that old book. Now it is an enjoyment for her to see her children and grandkids looking at the old lithographs in awe, and reading the fables in English with the opportunity to learn some German and see how the old language has changed from old and Gothic German into modern writing.
Iris's thoughts were: " if I can translate this for my grandchildren, why not translate for other people”?
