We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Financial Analyst or Forensic Accountant to conduct a comprehensive review of a private company’s financials. This includes analyzing multi-year financial projections and conducting a forensic audit of historical financial records such as payroll, expenses, and internal performance data. The purpose of this engagement is to identify inconsistencies, questionable assumptions, performance issues, and potential financial abuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and analyze multi-year financial projections for validity, structure, and feasibility

  • Identify signs of data manipulation or inflated projections

  • Conduct a forensic accounting review of historical records, including:

    • Payroll and executive compensation

    • Vendor payments and expense allocations

    • Revenue recognition and cash flow reports

  • Compare actuals to projections and identify material discrepancies

  • Flag any red flags related to financial misrepresentation, excessive spending, or breaches of fiduciary responsibility

  • Summarize findings in a detailed report suitable for legal, financial, and strategic use

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in forensic accounting, financial analysis, or investigative auditing

  • Deep understanding of GAAP, financial modeling, and internal controls

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)

  • Experience in litigation support, investor fraud investigations, or corporate finance audits

  • CPA, CFA, CFE, or similar credential strongly preferred

  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and reporting skills

  • Prior experience working discreetly on sensitive or legal matters
