Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical & Healthcare Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 10+ years of professional experience to support an advanced research and engineering initiative.
The SME will provide healthcare and medical domain expertise, evaluate research outputs, review complex medical information, and collaborate with multidisciplinary research and engineering teams.
Location: Mountain View, CA / Silicon Valley
Work Arrangement: Onsite 2 days per week
Engagement Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Duration: 6 months
Weekly Commitment: 35 hours/week
Rate: USD $90–$120/hour

Key Responsibilities
Partner with research and engineering teams to provide medical and healthcare expertise.
Evaluate research outputs for medical accuracy, relevance, and quality.
Review and interpret complex medical and healthcare information.
Review and synthesize information from medical, healthcare, scientific, and clinical sources.
Identify inaccuracies, gaps, assumptions, and potential risks in research outputs.
Provide recommendations to improve research quality and outcomes.
Support development and refinement of research methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on complex healthcare and medical questions.
Document findings, assumptions, and recommendations clearly.
Stay current with developments in healthcare, medicine, clinical practices, and healthcare regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent degree in Medicine, Healthcare, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
10+ years of professional experience in healthcare or medical-related domains.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Experience reviewing, interpreting, and synthesizing complex medical information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with research and engineering teams.
Must be able to work onsite in Mountain View, CA 2 days per week.
