- Trading Card Game Consultant – Hoheto Kai
Hoheto Kai is a creature creation and collectible card platform currently in development. We are seeking an experienced Trading Card Game (TCG) consultant to review the product, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide a clear roadmap to launch.
We are looking for someone who will challenge assumptions, identify problems, and provide honest, actionable recommendations—not simply agree with existing plans.
Responsibilities
• Review the current platform, game systems, and development progress
• Evaluate collectible mechanics, rarity systems, progression loops, retention, and player engagement
• Assess creature creation, collection, fusion, trading, and reward systems
• Identify gaps, risks, and launch-critical improvements
• Recommend feature priorities, simplifications, and next steps
• Work with our development team to help guide execution toward launch
Requirements
• Proven experience designing, launching, or consulting on collectible card games, trading card games, digital card games, creature collection games, or similar products
• Strong understanding of card economies, rarity systems, collection psychology, and long-term player retention
• Ability to provide direct, constructive feedback and practical recommendations
Proof of Experience Required
Applicants must provide examples of relevant products, games, consulting engagements, or leadership roles they have worked on. Please include links, portfolios, case studies, references, or other evidence demonstrating your experience with collectible or trading card game ecosystems.
Deliverables
• Product assessment and launch-readiness review
• Prioritized recommendations and roadmap
• Risk analysis and improvement opportunities
• Guidance for moving the product to production launch
This engagement will begin as a project-based consulting role, with the potential for ongoing advisory involvement.
If you have helped build successful collectible game experiences and know what it takes to create engaging long-term player communities, we'd like to hear from you.
