The G7 calls on China to put pressure on Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

The G7 leaders have requested that China put pressure on Russia to end its aggression in Ukraine and unconditionally remove its troops.

The second day of the G7 Leaders' Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, has begun. The leaders addressed the Ukraine conflict as well as other topics in their joint statement.

G7 leaders asked China to pressure Russia to stop its aggression in Ukraine.

The call added, "We call on China to put pressure on Russia to stop military aggression and withdraw its troops from Ukraine immediately, completely, and unconditionally."

The leaders added, "We encourage China to support a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on its territorial integrity and the principles and objectives of the United Nations (UN) Charter," including through direct negotiations with Ukraine. I took note of his statement.

The leaders asked that China find a peaceful resolution to its claims on Taiwan in order to respect Taiwan's status.

THE NEED FOR COOPERATION WITH CHINA

The leaders said they want to create "constructive and stable relations" with China and do not want to "do harm," stressing the significance of doing so and expressing their concerns to China directly.

The leaders emphasized the need for cooperation with China given its significant global influence and size, as well as other issues like climate change, international financial requirements, global health difficulties, and economic stability.

The leaders stressed that they "strongly oppose any unilateral attempt to change the status quo by using force" and that they are closely monitoring the situation in the East and South China Seas, where China has grown its regional influence.

The leaders made a declaration that read, "A China that plays by international rules will have global interest." They also explained that they oppose China's militarized efforts in the area and that its maritime claims in the South China Sea lack any basis in law.

In a joint statement, the G7 leaders underlined their worries over human rights abuses in the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China.

The leaders affirmed, "We neither wish to harm China nor do we seek to block China's economic growth and prosperity. His analysis was shared.

The presidents referred to the critical security situation in the Pacific and denounced North Korea's "unprecedented number of illegal ballistic missile launches" while urging Pyongyang to entirely renounce its nuclear weapons and programs.

The leaders promised to step up efforts to attain "the ultimate goal of a world without nuclear weapons" by stepping up disarmament and non-proliferation activities.
