We have created applications that can do automatic lookups to find distances between any two addresses, create documents from data entered into forms, validate data entered into a spreadsheet, generate a doc from data in a spreadsheet and interact with a backend database. While we have extensive experience with Microsoft Office, Google Apps provide much more flexibility. It is platform independent - you can use an app from virtually any device with a browser and an internet connection.
