Hi! My name's Derek and I'm a national award-winning graphic designer. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's in Graphic Information Technology where I specialized in Technical Imaging & Reproduction and 3D Graphics & Animation. Currently, I work full-time as a front-end web developer for the largest school district in Arizona, where I also previously worked as the district graphic designer in charge of all internal and external promotional and collateral materials. In 2015, I was awarded the 2015 Award of Excellence in NSPRA’s Publications and Electronic Media Contest for my work on the KinderU Preschool Branding Initiative. In the previous year, I was also awarded a 2014 Award of Excellence recipient for work on the East Valley Academy brochure at Mesa Public Schools. Aside from my full-time positions, I have also done creative projects in graphic and web design for local Arizona companies, Tequa Builders LLC, Southwest Commercial Solar and Verde Vintage & Thrift, Inc. as well as Arizona State University and Mesa Community College, Altitude Productions, Color Room Films, Teachers Moving On, FarSuperior Partners, Security Title Agency and various real estate companies. I work on various platforms, but usually rely heavily on the Adobe Creative Suite / Cloud to get my projects done.
