Two dates were proposed for the second election after the general elections in Greece were held on May 21 and no party agreed to take office. The choice has already been made. The new election date was declared by the Greek Presidency on June 25. The choice was taken, and the dates of July 2 and June 25 were specified for the second election in Greece. The date of the reorganization of the elections was announced following the general elections held on May 21 since no party was able to get the 151 seats necessary to form a government on its own, and the party leaders refused to bear the responsibility.
After appointing the temporary administration under the leadership of President of the Court of Accounts Ioannis Sarmas, Greek President Katerina Sakelaropulu declared in a proclamation that the elections would take place on June 25. The newly created legislature will meet on July 3rd, per the ordinance. Two notable developments between Turkey and Greece could help ease Aegean tensions.
