I am a bilingual professional translator/interpreter from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English. I am exceptional in that I am considered a native speaker and writer in both languages, since I have cultivated an American accent in English and a Mexican accent in Spanish. My cultural background is that I was born in the U.S. to highly-educated Spanish-speaking parents and then emigrated to Mexico for eleven years before returning to the U.S.. In terms of my experience, I began translating for the Mexican Agricultural Ministry and then worked actively as a fully-qualified Spanish/English translator/interpreter in the San Francisco Courts for seven years. I also wrote advertising copy in Spanish for professional agencies such as Leo Burnett, and I have done audio and video transcription/translation projects. I currently write regular feature articles in English and perform Spanish/English translation work for Mexico Living Magazine. I also have my own private translation practice.
