Sailing's 2023 Dragon World Championship got underway in Bodrum, Muğla.
. 24 teams competed for the top prize in the races run by the Turkish Sailing Federation, the International Dragon Union, the Turkish Dragon Union, and the Bodrum Offshore Sailing Club.
Martin Payne, president of the International Dragon Union, gave the starting signal for the sailors in the tournament, which is held every two years in a different nation and this year in Bodrum. The competition, whose primary sponsor is Arar Petrol A., will come to a close on June 2.
The championship has competitors from Turkey, Switzerland, Portugal, England, Hungary, Australia, and Belgium. There are 30 Turkish sailors competing in the organization, along with eight Turkish teams.
Queen II represented England in the competition in which the world's top sailors battled it out in "dragon"-style boats. The renowned vessel known as the Bluebottle, which Queen Elizabeth gave to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, as a wedding present, is also taking part.
